Qorvo® Introduces World’s Highest Power Ku-Band Satellite Communications Amplifier
Qorvo® (Nasdaq: QRVO), a leading global provider of connectivity and power solutions, today introduced the world’s highest power Ku-Band satellite communications amplifier in a highly compact 7.5 x 6 mm SMT package. With its wide instantaneous bandwidth and high power added efficiency, Qorvo’s newest satcom amplifier is an ideal solution for high throughput ground and mobile terminals as well as the growing market of phased array satellite terminals.
The QPA0017 targets the 13.75 to 14.5 GHz satcom band while providing 12 Watts of linear power with third-order intermodulation distortion products of 25 dBc. The device can deliver up to 25 Watts of saturated output power with 35% power-added efficiency. For small-signal operation, the gain is 30 dB. The QPA0017 offers an extended operating frequency range of 12.75 to 15.35 GHz, providing coverage for the lower Ku-Band satcom and the Common Data Link (CDL) band. To simplify system integration, the QPA0017 is fully matched to 50 ohms with DC-grounded I/O ports for optimum ESD performance.
